COLOMBO (News 1st); A United National Party led-alliance will possibly contest the next election, hinted Deputy Leader of the party Ruwan Wijewardene.
The United National Party said there is no issue with regard to the support extended by the President.
The UNP commented on the position taken by the SLPP District Leaders to boycott the President's meeting on Monday (12) noting that there are many political camps that support the President.
"In order to achieve stability, Ranil Wickremesinghe should remain as President for the next five to ten years. We need to take forward this plan. There are many political parties that support the government. When those groups come together, we can face the election as an alliance," he added.
