COLOMBO (News 1st) - State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya is confident that the economic growth rate of Sri Lanka will take a positive stand in the last quarter of 2023.
"Sri Lanka was able to manage the country's economy even last year, despite numerous international financial institutions making various predictions," the State Minister said.
According to the World Bank, the economic growth rate of Sri Lanka for 2023 is predicted to be negative 4.2.
According to the International Monetary Fund, the economic growth rate of Sri Lanka will be negative 3.
The Central Bank of Sri Lanka predicts the economic growth rate to be between negative 2 and 3.
"However, everyone should work towards increasing the GDP, and this will lead to a positive economic growth rate by the end of 2023," the State Minister said.
