53-year-old shot dead in Borella

COLOMBO (News 1st): A 53-year-old resident of Kelaniya, was fatally shot near the railway crossing down Lesley Ranagala Mawatha in Borella on Saturday morning (May 20), Police said. 

According to Police, the victim was riding a motorcycle when two unidentified gunmen travelling on another motorcycle shot him. 

Despite being rushed to the Colombo National Hospital, the victim succumbed to his gunshot wounds.

The suspects have fled the scene and Police have launched an investigation to apprehend them. 

As of now, the motive behind the shooting remains unknown.
