CID to continue probe on death of 16 year old school girl

The Criminal Investigations Department has been assigned to investigate the death of the 16-year-old girl in Kalutara. Police Media Spokesperson SSP Nihal Thalduwa noted the measure was taken to uncover the hidden facts related to the incident.

Meanwhile, the spouse of the owner of the hotel where the incident had taken place was arrested by the police yesterday. She is a 48 year old resident of Katukurunda. The main suspect in the incident is detailed and investigated over the past 48 hours.

The main suspect Dhanushka Gayan Sahabandu, aged 29 was arrested in Hikkaduwa. The body of the 16-year-old school girl was discovered behind a Hotel in Kaluthara on May 6. The victim's friend who had brought her to the restaurant and her boyfriend were also arrested in relation to the incident.
