World's longest lasting cyclone, Cyclone Freddy, strikes Mozambique again

Colmbo (News 1st) - Cyclone Freddy, the world's longest ever cyclone that is currently 35 days old and counting, on Sunday hit Mozambique for the second time.
Freddy has already killed 31 people whie sowing a trail of devastation across four countries - Madagascar and Mozabique twice each, Reunion, and Mauritius.
Freddy formed in the Timor Sea between Indonesia and Australia as a disturbance in late January and developed into a cyclone as it crossed the Indian Ocean and arrived off Africa.
It has been rated as a level 5, which is the strongest cyclone on the Safir-Simpson Scale that is used to measure the intensity of storms.
Up to now, the longest cyclone was Cyclone John in 1994 which lasted 31 days.
Freddy is also the cyclone with the highest Accumulated Cyclone Energy at a rating of 85.9, surpassing Cyclone Ioke's 83.6 in 2006.
