COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Sri Lankan government has decided to revise the operating hours of liquor stores and taverns.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe as the Finance, Economic Stabilization, and National Policies, had granted permission for the revision as per the powers vested by the Excise Ordinance.
Premises with the license to sell foreign liquor for retail price can operate from 8 AM to 10 PM.
Hotels can sell liquor from 10 AM to midnight and to 2 AM based on their licenses.
Foreign liquor stores can only remain open from 10 AM to 9 PM.
