Nationwide Power Restored After Five Hour Outage, CEB Launches Investigation

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has announced that power has been fully restored throughout the island, just five and a half hours after a nationwide outage. 

The outage, which started around 5:10 PM yesterday, was caused by a fault in the transmission system between Kothmale and Biyagama. 

The CEB has launched a special investigation to determine the cause of the fault. 

The outage caused significant disruptions for many people across the country.

The spokesperson of the CEB, Engineer Noel Priyantha said that a special investigation has commenced in this regard
