US DFC Chief meets President to discuss investments

Colombo (News 1st): US International Development Finance Cooperation (DFC) Chief Executive Officer Scott Nathan called in President Ranil Wickremesinghe on Tuesday (7) evening. 

The DFC said that in just four years, DFC has gone from under $20 million to now almost $1 billion dollars invested across Sri Lanka.

It added that President Wickremesinghe and CEO Nathan discussed opportunities to take DFC’s partnership with Sri Lanka to the next level.

US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Julie Chung posted in X that, CEO Nathan and herself met with President Ranil Wickremesinghe to discuss economic reforms based on good governance and efforts towards attracting quality investment.

She said that the United States is committed to supporting inclusive growth by empowering Sri Lanka's private sector.
