Final day to submit income reports

COLOMBO (News 1st); Thursday (30) marks the final day to submit income reports for the assessment year from the 1st of April 2022 till the 31st of March 2023.

The Inland Revenue Department said a fine of Rs.50,000 will be charged from people who do not hand over income reports.

Speaking during a workshop organized by the Sectoral Oversight Committee on Alleviating the Impact of the Economic Crisis, Inland Revenue Department officials said a fine of 5 percent of the tax due will also be imposed.

It was revealed that income tax files have been opened for all Members of Parliament.
