Tax Burden should be reduced - Former Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake

Former Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake says that the tax burden of the general public should be reduced. 

"While it is true that we have to come out of bankruptsy, we do not have to dance to the tune of the IMF" he said speaking to media. 

"We need to present a program to reduce taxes" the former Finance Minister said. 

He stressed that the tax net should be widened instead of burdening those who are already paying taxes.
