Plans to open new sports university in 2024

COLOMBO (News 1st) - State Minister of Youth and Sports Rohana Dissanayake said that the government plans to open a new sports university in Sri Lanka, in 2024. 

The State Minister added that it is believed that the total cost for this project would be 1 billion US Dollars. 

He made this statement at a press briefing held at the Presidential Media Centre, yesterday. 

The State Minister said that the Bachelor of Education Degree, Bachelor of Science Degree, Combined Annual Growth Rate and Environmental Impact Assessment, are among its contents.

State Minister Rohana Dissanayake further said that after getting the approval of institutions including the University Grants Commission, the project will be commenced in the first quarter of 2024.
