Liquor licenses of five companies suspended

COLOMBO (News 1st); The extension of licenses of five liquor companies has been suspended.

Commissioner General of Excise Saman Jayasinghe said the annual license issued to the companies was not extended, over failure to pay tax arrears.

He added that the licenses expired on the 30th of October.

Over Rs.600 million in tax arrears is due from the relevant liquor companies.
