Low lying areas in Matara could be inundated soon - District Secretary

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Matara District Secretary Y. Wickramasiri told News 1st that low lying areas in the Matara Divisional Secretariat will be inundated in the next two hours, if the water levels exceed the bund in the area.
He instructed area residents to immediately seek shelter in the safe camps established in the Matara district.
He warned the people that the chances of the weather conditions worsening are likely.
