COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Sectoral Oversight Committee on Alleviating the Impact of the Economic Crisis stated that nearly 200 government-owned businesses and institutions have not submitted their annual reports to the Parliament in the past two years.
Its Chairman MP Gamini Waleboda stated that the Department of Public Enterprises was ordered to take steps to submit the annual reports of those institutions to the Parliament before the 30th of October.
Two new members have also been appointed to the Sectoral Oversight Committee on Alleviating the Impact of the Economic Crisis.
The appointments have been made due to the resignation of Parliamentarians Palani Digambaran and M. Rameswaran, from the Sectoral Oversight Committee.
