1905 - Hotline to report corruption

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Sri Lanka has introduced a hotline for the general public to file complaints of bribery and corruption committed by government employees.

The Ministry of Public Services, Provincial Councils and Local Government announced on Friday (4) that these complaints can be made via the hotline 1905.

Complaints relating to acts of bribery or corruption committed by those serving at District Secretariats, Divisional Secretariats, and Grama Niladhari Offices can be directed to this number, which will cater to the public in all three languages.

In addition, complaints on such acts committed by those serving at the Registrar General's Department, and the Pensions Department can also be directed to the same number.

In addition, acts of bribery or corruption committed by Public Representatives at Government Institutions, Provincial Councils, and Local Government Institutions can be directed to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption via hotline 1954
