Five suspects arrested with heroin and hand grenade in Ragama

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Five suspects have been arrested with heroin and an overseas-manufactured live hand grenade, in their possession.

This operation was carried out by the Police Special Task Force in the Ragama area.

Sri Lanka Police said that 32.720g of heroin, a passport, 05 mobile phones, a van and a motorcycle were also seized.

The suspects, who are between ages 20 and 40, have been handed over to the Colombo Crime Division.

The Police further said, after reporting facts to the Wattala Magistrate's Court, they obtained a seven-day detention order and will conduct further investigations.
