COLOMBO (News 1st): A meeting of the Committee on Parliamentary Affairs will be held next Monday (Apr. 19) with the participation of party leaders and under the patronage of Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena.
The meeting will be held at the Parliamentary Complex at 2:00 pm on Monday, the 19th of April, Serjeant-at-Arms, Narendra Fernando said on Friday (Apr. 16).
During the meeting, attention will be drawn to the proposals to be tabled and the bills to be debated in the last parliamentary week of April starting from the 20th.
At the previous meeting of the Committee on Parliamentary Affairs, discussions were held on the proposal to table the final report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry appointed to probe incidents of Political Victimization, on 21st April.
Accordingly, the discussion focused on holding the debate pertaining to the matter on the 22nd and 23rd of this month.
A final decision in this regard is expected to be taken during the meeting of the Committee on Parliamentary Affairs to be held next Monday (19), Secretary-General of Parliament, Dhammika Dasanayake noted.
