How Did KDU Copper Strips Go Missing? COPE Wants Answers

COLOMBO (News 1st): COPE has instructed Ministry of Defence officials to expedite investigations regarding the disappearance of copper strips from lightning conductors at the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University Hospital.

This instruction was given when officials from General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University were summoned before the committee.

The Chairman of COPE, Dr. Nishantha Samaraweera, stated that over 2 kilometers of copper strips had gone missing from the Kotelawala Defence University Hospital during the years 2022–2023.

He said that instructions were issued to the Defence Secretary to speed up the ongoing investigations into the matter and submit a report.
