Court Orders Gnanasara Thero Supporters to Vacate Viharamahadevi Park Satyagraha Site

COLOMBO (News 1st): A court order has been issued instructing the theras and other individuals engaged in a satyagraha at Colombo's Viharamahadevi Park, demanding the release of Venerable Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thero, who is serving a prison sentence for contempt of court to vacate the premises.

Cinnamon Gardens Police visited Viharamahadevi Park last night and read out the relevant court order to the theras and the group participating in the satyagraha.

Police stated that the theras and the group continue to remain at Viharamahadevi Park.
