However, arrangements have been made to keep Former first lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa under special security.
She had earlier been transferred to the National Eye Hospital before being moved to the regular ward.
The Prisons Spokesperson said Shiranthi Rajapaksa had been staying in a ward for female patients until the morning of October 9.
Doctors examined her at the National Eye Hospital on the morning of October 9 and prescribed medication, he added.
Shiranthi Rajapaksa was arrested on October 7 by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).
She was arrested over allegations of obtaining Rs. 10 million from a state bank and misusing the funds, with charges being pursued under corruption and public property laws.
