AG Requests Three-Judge Bench For GotaGoGama Case

COLOMBO (News1st);The Attorney General has sent a letter to the Chief Justice requesting a three judge bench of the High Court to hear the case related to the alleged attack on the "Gota Go Gama" protest site.

Indictments are expected to be filed against 20 defendants regarding the incident, including former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshabandu Tennakoon and former Minister Johnston Fernando.

The Attorney General's Department stated that indictments will be filed under 328 charges.

The Department further mentioned that indictments will also be served for causing grievous harm to 56 individuals during the alleged attack on the "Gota Go Gama" protest site.
