Terror Probe Launched into Complaint Over Anuradhapura SLPP Rally

COLOMBO (News 1st); A complaint lodged by the Joint Opposition over an SLPP meeting held in Anuradhapura on September 12 has been referred to the Counter Terrorism and Investigation Division for further inquiry on the instructions of the Inspector General of Police.

The complaint alleges that a banned terrorist organisation was promoted during the political gathering.

A delegation representing the Joint Opposition visited Police Headquarters yesterday (14) and formally handed over the complaint to the Inspector General of Police, requesting an investigation into statements and activities that allegedly took place during the meeting.
