Ex-Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa At CIABOC Over Airbus Probe

COLOMBO (News 1st); Former Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa has appeared before the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).

His appearance follows a summons issued by the Bribery Commission in connection with the ongoing investigation into the Airbus scandal.

The Commission stated that a statement is currently being recorded from former Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa.

He had previously been instructed to appear before the Bribery Commission on September 4.

However, Rajapaksa had informed the Commission that he was unable to attend on that date due to personal reasons and requested that an alternative date be granted.

Accordingly, Chamal Rajapaksa appeared before the Bribery Commission today.
