New Public Transport Driver Licensing System from September

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A new passenger transport driver licensing system will be introduced from September 1, the National Council for Road Safety announced.

Council Chairman Manjula Kularatne said the duration of the training programme required to obtain a public transport driver's licence has been extended from two days to ten days under the new framework.

He stated that the decision was taken following the identification of several shortcomings in the previous passenger transport driver licensing system.
