COLOMBO(News1st); The Northern, North Central, Eastern, and Uva provinces are currently facing severe impacts due to the ongoing dry weather conditions.
The Disaster Relief Services Centre stated that over 64,000 individuals across the Batticaloa, Ampara, Moneragala, and Ratnapura districts alone are currently experiencing acute drinking water shortages.
Media Spokesperson and Senior Assistant Secretary, Prageeth Danansooriya, mentioned that measures are currently underway to supply necessary drinking water to the affected residents.
