COLOMBO (News 1st): The first phase of the third school term for government and government-approved private schools concludes today.
The Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education announced that the school term for Muslim schools will end on the 2nd of next month.
The second phase of the third school term for all schools will begin on the 7th of next month and will end on December 4th.
The Department of Examinations stated that this year's Grade 5 Scholarship Examination is scheduled to be held on the 9th.
It will be held across 2,723 centers.
This year's G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination is scheduled to be held from the 10th to the 5th of next month.
Meanwhile, Dr. Prashila Samarawera, a Community Physician at the National Dengue Control Unit, states that instructions have been given to Medical Officer of Health (MOH) offices to implement mosquito eradication programs in schools prior to the commencement of the examinations.
The number of dengue patients reported in the country so far this year is 88,088.
Sixty-three individuals have died due to dengue.
The National Dengue Control Unit stated that mosquito eradication programs are being continuously implemented in 137 dengue-risk Medical Officer of Health divisions.
