National Integrity Week Launched Under the Theme 'A Culture Of Integrity – A Clean Sri Lanka'

COLOMBO (News 1st) - National Integrity Week begins today under the theme, 'A Culture of Integrity – A Clean Sri Lanka.'

The programme implemented through a circular signed by Presidential Secretary Dr. Nandika Kumanayake, is being spearheaded by the Presidential Secretariat in collaboration with the Clean Sri Lanka initiative.

The week will officially commence at 9:00 a.m. today (27 )with the National Integrity Pledge and the launch of a Code of Ethics at the Presidential Secretariat and all government institutions.

According to the Presidential Media Division, the initiative aims to enhance the quality, efficiency, and transparency of Sri Lanka's public service while fostering a model administrative system free from corruption. 

Today's programme focuses on promoting institutional integrity.

Activities Tomorrow will centre on financial, digital, entrepreneurial, and technological integrity.

On Wednesday, the focus will shift to spiritual, ethical, cultural, and social integrity, followed by operational, infrastructure, service delivery, and labour integrity on July 30.

The final day, July 31, will highlight environmental integrity, resource management, rural development, and community empowerment.

As part of the initiative, Internal Affairs Units established in every government institution under the guidance of the Presidential Secretariat will receive complaints from the public regarding corruption or administrative inconveniences.

Members of the public can submit complaints via QR codes, email, letters, telephone, or web-based platforms. A dedicated digital monitoring system has also been introduced by the Presidential Secretariat to oversee the action taken by institutional heads on these complaints.

The Presidential Secretariat further stated that although National Integrity Week concludes on July 31, the programme will continue across all state and semi-government institutions until December 31.
