Court To Hear Writ Petition Seeking Protection From Arrest In Ganemulla Sanjeewa Murder Case

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Court of Appeal has ordered to hear a writ petition filed by the son of Osman Gunasekara also known as "Gampaha Osman", seeking an order to prevent his arrest by the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) in connection with the murder of Ganemulla Sanjeewa.

The order was issued when the petition was taken up before an Appeals Court bench comprising judges Shashi Mahendran and Aditya Patabendige.

The bench also ordered the issuance of notices to the respondents named in the petition, including the Director of the Colombo Crimes Division, directing them to appear before the court on September 3 to provide their submissions.
