University Admission Cut-Off Marks To Be Released Next Month

COLOMBO (News 1st); The University Grants Commission (UGC) has announced that university admission cut-off marks, based on the latest G.C.E. Advanced Level examination, are set to be released during the first week of next month.

According to Vice-Chairman of UGC Professor Wasantha Liyanage, a total of 92,043 applications were received for university entrance this year. 

Out of these applicants, 42,937 students will be granted admission.

The UGC also plans to introduce several new degree programs to the curriculum. 

Professor Liyanage confirmed that academic sessions at all universities are scheduled to begin in September.
