Over 52,000 Dengue Cases Reported In 2026

The National Dengue Control Unit says that despite repeated warnings over the past several days regarding the severe risk, public engagement in dengue prevention efforts remains insufficient.

Its Acting Director Dr. Kapila Kannangara said that a total of 52,068 dengue cases have been reported in the country so far this year.

He further noted that 18,227 dengue cases were reported in the month of June alone.
