COLOMBO (News 1st); Forty people were injured after a bus fell off a precipice near the Diyatalawa Railway Station early this morning (27th).
Police said the accident occurred at around 12.50 a.m. when a Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) bus travelling from Colombo to Badulla veered off the road and fell over the precipice.
The injured were admitted to the Diyatalawa Hospital for treatment.
With this incident, the number of people injured in bus accidents reported over the past 24 hours has risen to 78.
Yesterday, 38 people were injured when two buses collided in the Talalla, Gandara.
