Special Dengue Prevention Programme Begins Today (08)

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Ministry of Health says that a special dengue prevention programme will commence today (08).

The National Dengue Control Unit stated that the programme will be implemented across 14 high-risk districts and 72 Medical Officer of Health (MOH) divisions.

According to Acting Director of the National Dengue Control Unit, Dr. Kapila Kannangara the programme will be carried out over three days, today(08), tomorrow(09), and the day after tomorrow(10),

He also stated that legal action will be taken against premises that fail to comply with instructions issued by health authorities.

36,168 dengue cases have been reported so far this year.

20 deaths have been reported.
