515 Nursing Graduates Finally Recruited After Long Delay

COLOMBO (News 1st); Appointment letters are being awarded today to 515 graduate nurses, marking the first such recruitment in five years.

The appointments are being granted to a group who will serve as Grade III nursing officers.

The move comes after a prolonged gap in recruitment, with the last intake for these positions carried out in 2021.

According to the Ministry of Health, the newly appointed nurses will be deployed across major government hospitals and teaching hospitals islandwide.

The Ministry also confirmed that Sri Lanka currently has a total of 43,553 nursing officers serving in the healthcare system.
