Rs. 145 Mn Worth Kush Seized at Katunayake Airport

COLOMBO (News 1st); Two Sri Lankan nationals have been arrested for attempting to smuggle a large quantity of Kush narcotics valued at approximately Rs. 145.62 million into the country.

The arrests were made by officers of the Sri Lanka Customs Narcotics Control Division at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake.

The suspects had arrived at the airport this morning on a flight from Bangkok, Thailand.

According to the Customs Department, a total of 14 kilograms and 562 grams of Kush was discovered concealed inside two pieces of luggage carried by the suspects.

Authorities identified the individuals as residents of Colombo and Dematagoda, aged 23 and 30.
