COLOMBO (News 1st); Cabinet approval has been granted to construct the Rambukkana to Galagedara section of Phase Two of the Third Section of the Central Expressway Project using state funds.
The approval was granted based on a proposal submitted by the Minister of Transport and Highways.
The estimated cost for construction work along the Rambukkana–Galagedara stretch exceeds Rs. 112 billion.
Tenders have been called under the National Competitive Procurement method to implement the project through competitive bidding among qualified local contractors. The project will be executed using government funds under seven contract packages.
Accordingly, the awarding of contracts will be carried out based on the recommendations of the High-Level Standing Procurement Committee.
