Public Consultation On 2026 Electricity Tariff Revision Today

COLOMBO (News 1st); Public consultation on the proposed electricity tariff revision for 2026 will be held today.

The Public Utilities Commission stated that the consultation will be based on a proposal prepared using the electricity cost estimates submitted by the National System Operator for the second and third quarters.

Jayanath Herath, Director of Institutional Communications at the Public Utilities Commission, said that public comments will be accepted at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall.

The Commission’s decision on the electricity tariff revision is scheduled to be announced next Saturday.
