Vietnamese President Tô Lâm To Arrive In Sri Lanka

COLOMBO (News 1st); Vietnamese President Tô Lâm is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka on the 7th of May for an official visit.

He will remain in the country until the 9th of May. 

The Vietnamese President is expected to address the Parliament of Sri Lanka on the 8th of May.

Vietnam, one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing economies, recorded GDP growth of 7.1% in 2024 and 7.85% in the first nine months of 2025. 

Vietnam's GDP in 2025 stood at about US$514 billion.

As a large economy in the region, Vietnam presents strong potential for Sri Lanka to expand and strengthen trade relations.
