Cabinet Greenlights 9,800 Permanent Appointments for Public Sector Employees

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Cabinet approval has been granted for 9,800 permanent appointments to individuals currently employed in the public service.

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake recently proposed through budget recommendations for employees recruited on a temporary, casual, substitute, contract, or relief basis within the Public Service, Provincial Public Service, State Corporations, Statutory Boards, and other state institutions for permanent appointments. 

Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers has approved a joint proposal presented by President Dissanayake and the Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government to issue a circular containing the provisions necessary to award these permanent appointments.
