Special Colombo–Kandy Bus Service Launched to Ease Festive Travel

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Ministry of Transport and Highways announced a special bus service from Colombo to Kandy to facilitate travels for the general public during the New Year season.

Deputy Minister Dr. Prasanna Gunasena stated that these buses will be deployed starting tomorrow.

The initiative comes as train services on the route were disrupted due to the devastation caused by Cyclone Ditwah. 

The service will operate from the Bastian Mawatha Bus Station in Colombo.

The Deputy Minister further noted that it is intended to continue this service on weekends after the New Year period, following a revised timetable.
