GMOA Launches Island-Wide Strike Over Transfer Disputes; Health Ministry Warns of "Decisive Action"

COLOMBO(News 1st); The Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) has officially resumed its island-wide strike action as of 8:00 a.m. today.

Its Spokesperson, Dr. Chamil Wijesinghe, says the strike is being carried out in protest against the Health Ministry’s violation of procedures related to the transfer of doctors.

Deputy Minister of Health, Dr. Hansaka Wijemuni, says a decision will be taken if such disruptive actions continue.
