COLOMBO (News 1st): The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) says that a decision will be made today regarding the fuel distribution procedure for tomorrow. This comes as both today and tomorrow fall on "odd" dates, requiring a clarification of the current rationing system.

Managing Director of CPC, Dr. Mayura Neththikumarage noted that a special discussion is being held today to finalize these arrangements.

Under the existing system introduced by the Corporation, fuel is issued on even-numbered dates for vehicles with license plates ending in 0, 2, 4, 6, and 8, while those ending in 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9 are assigned to odd-numbered dates.

In terms of supply updates, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has confirmed that a tanker carrying 32,000 metric tons of fuel is scheduled to arrive in the country this Thursday.
