Wife of Alleged Organized Criminal ‘Modara Nipuna’ Arrested by CID

COLOMBO (News 1st); The wife of an individual described as an organized criminal, known as Modara Nipuna, has been arrested by Sri Lanka’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID), authorities said.

The arrest was made in connection with her alleged use of a forged foreign passport to travel overseas. 

According to investigators, the suspect had been apprehended in Dubai before being deported to Sri Lanka, where she was taken into custody by the CID upon her return.

Officials confirmed that the suspect is due to be produced before court today.
