COLOMBO (News 1st): The Director-General of Health Services, Dr. Asela Gunawardena, has assured that there is no shortage of imported medicines in the country.
The Director-General said that even the medicines imported from Iran are sufficiently available, adding that currently, Sri Lanka imports around 15 different types of medicines from Iran, including antibiotics and insulin.
Dr Gunawardena added that the existing stock of these medicines is sufficient for at least six months.
He further noted that if necessary, steps can be taken to import these medicines from other countries.
