COLOMBO (News 1st); Three-wheeler fares will be increased with effect from tomorrow, following a revision approved due to the recent rise in fuel prices.
The Chairman of the Western Province Road Passenger Transport Authority, Gamini Jasinghe, said the decision represents a temporary adjustment introduced in response to higher fuel costs.
Under the revised fare structure, the charge for the first kilometre has been increased by Rs. 10, bringing the new fare to Rs. 110.
From the second kilometre onwards, passengers will be charged Rs. 90 for each additional kilometre, reflecting an increase of Rs. 5 per kilometre from the previous rate.
Authorities said the revised fares will come into force from tomorrow.
