Fuel Issued Today Under QR System, Special Opportunity for Those Without QR Codes

COLOMBO (News 1st): Fuel distribution under the QR-based system was carried out today according to the odd–even number system, based on the last digit of the vehicle number plate.

Accordingly, vehicles with even-numbered plates are permitted to obtain fuel on even-numbered days, while vehicles with odd-numbered plates may obtain fuel on odd-numbered days.

Under this system, the presentation of a valid QR code remains mandatory.

However, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has decided to make a special concession valid for today only, allowing fuel to be issued to individuals who have not yet obtained fuel under the QR-based system.

As a result, those who were unable to download a QR code, unable to register, or have so far been unable to obtain fuel will be given the opportunity to purchase fuel today under this temporary arrangement.
