COLOMBO (News 1st) - A group of 18 Sri Lankans in Israel are scheduled to return to the country.
Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Israel, Nimal Bandara, says that the group includes 9 individuals who were deported from Israel.
The deportations were carried out due to violations of the country’s immigration laws.
They are expected to arrive in Sri Lanka this morning.
Meanwhile, four more individuals are due to depart Israel today to return home.
The Ambassador noted that an additional five people have applied to return to Sri Lanka, and are expected to travel via Cairo Airport and arrive in the country through Dubai.
