COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Economic Monitoring Committee to Address the impacts of the Global Tensions on the Sri Lankan economy is scheduled to meet again today.
The Chairman of the committee and Deputy Minister of Finance, Dr. Anil Jayantha Fernando, says that today's discussion will focus on closely monitoring the current status of the domestic economy amidst the Middle Eastern conflicts and providing the necessary recommendations.
He further noted that plans are in place to submit these recommendations to the Cabinet of Ministers.
To date, the committee has convened on two previous occasions.
The committee was established following a proposal by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to provide essential recommendations aimed at ensuring Sri Lanka's economic stability and protecting the welfare of its citizens in the face of external influences.
