COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) says it will begin monitoring from today (16) the fuel stocks issued by the government to all fuel stations and the quantities sold under the QR code system.
The CPC said that if any discrepancies are reported between the fuel supplied to filling stations and the fuel sold under the QR system, strict action will be taken against the relevant stations.
The corporation warned that such action could include the cancellation of operating licences of fuel stations found to be in violation.
The CPC also said that a mechanism to obtain information related to these issues has been planned and tested, and is now ready to be used as part of the monitoring process.
