Suspect Arrested With Firearms and Ammunition in Kaduwela

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A suspect has been arrested with several firearms and a cache of ammunition during a raid conducted in Welivita, Kaduwela.

Police said officers from the Colombo Crimes Division, acting on a tip-off, arrested the suspect with an unlicensed 12-bore firearm and a rifle. 

The officers also seized 15 rounds of 12-bore ammunition, two rounds of rifle ammunition, one magazine, and 50 rounds of 7.62 mm live ammunition during the raid.

The suspect, a 48-year-old resident of Kaduwela, has been taken into custody for further investigations.
