Economic Monitoring Committee to Reconvene on March 16

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Economic Monitoring Committee will reconvene next Monday, March 16.

Its Chairman, Dr. Anil Jayantha Fernando, said that the committee will closely review the current economic situation in the country in light of the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and provide necessary recommendations during the discussion. 

He added that the recommendations are expected to be submitted to the Cabinet. 

The committee has met on two occasions so far.

It was established following a proposal by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to provide recommendations aimed at safeguarding Sri Lanka’s economic stability amid external pressures and protecting the welfare of citizens.
